Galway’s municipal and multi-purpose Black Box Theatre – accommodating up to 550 seated, 750 standing – is located on Dyke Road and situated just 5 minutes’ walk from Galway city centre. It presents an eclectic mix of theatre, concerts and comedy annually along with a variety of trade shows and other events.

1998 saw the creation of the Warehouse venue which was designed to accommodate national and international acts. Dolan’s Warehouse has evolved to become our centerpiece, a venue that can adapt to suit medium sized gigs, seated intimate performances, spoken word events, comedy and club nights.

The modern Liberty Hall opened in the early 1960’s. Built by the T.G.W.U as a facility for the union, the hall itself was originally a flat floored venue on two levels with a small proscenium stage. Since its reincarnation, the Liberty Hall Theatre has presented pantomimes, plays, opera, comedy, films and festivals.

A renovation project took place to expand the capacity of Whelan’s front bar, as well as to install several new facilities on the second and third levels of the building in April 2007. Included in these new facilities was an additional smaller 120-capacity venue and bar known as Upstairs.
